WALKING FOOTBALL TRIAL

We’re exploring the possibility of adding a game of Walking Football to our weekly schedule, or at least trialling a couple of games – most likely at Hemel FC on a Monday at 7pm, before our usual football sessions start. There would be no age or gender restrictions to this game.

Whilst following the usual rules of Football, the obvious difference is the walking rule: “A player whilst moving around the pitch must have one foot in contact with the ground at all times. If both feet are off the ground in the motion of moving around the pitch, with or without the ball, then the player is deemed not to be walking and a direct free kick is awarded to the opposition”.

This game would suit:- anyone who is looking to return to physical activity, either from injury or a long lay off from exercise. – players who prefer less impactive/less physical activity than regular football- it can also be used as a less strenuous activity alongside playing normal football, maybe even as a warm up ahead of the 8pm games. If you’re interested, or if you know someone who might be keen to try this, please email info@communitykickabout.org so we can gauge interest.
