Thank you to everyone who joined in this week’s session, with three games for the Over 30’s Men – 6-a-side at 8pm and another two games of 6-a-side at 9pm. These were some very well competed games this week.
Thank you to everyone who registered to play for the Ladies game and once again we’re very sorry that we had to cancel for the second consecutive week – we had too many late withdrawals to make the session work. This is particularly unfortunate as it’s almost exactly the group of girls who were able to play both weeks but didn’t get a game. We’re determined to keep trying though as we’re just a few players away from being able to run a game; the Gazette are hopefully going to run an article about the sessions this week, which should generate a bit more interest.

We are delighted to have been awarded a grant from the Barclays Community Football Fund, being delivered in parnership with Sported. This grant will help us commit to providing weekly football sessions to Ladies living in and around Dacorum as part of our Community Kickabout initiative. In August 2022, after running popular Men’s Over 30’s Football games for two years, we trialled two Ladies only sessions (with no age restrictions) at Hemel Hempstead Town FC. We had a fantastic response and organised another two in September that were competed with a lot enthusiasm, hence our approach to Barclays and Sported to apply for funding towards securing a long term booking of Hemel FC’s 5G pitch.
