KICKABOUT IS ONE YEAR OLD

Thanks to everyone who participated in this week’s Community Kickabout, another busy and we’ll contested session. Booking is now live for next week’s Kickabout, on Monday 11th October 2021.

Community Kickabout is One year old next week! Since our first kick off at 9pm on Monday 12th October 2021, we’ve organised 33 Over 30’s Football sessions at Vauxhall Road (we’ve run every week outside of the lockdowns). After starting out on the wettest night of 2021 with 12 eager players, we went on to outgrow the 6-a-side pitches and move on to a section of the main pitch, where we’ve since continued to grow and have now moved back to occupy two 6-a-side pitches every week.

We’re very grateful of the eagerness and assistance of Dean Chance and Dave Boggins at Hemel Hempstead Town FC, and of course Dacorum Borough Council’s support with a community grant that got us equipped and up and running. But the initiative wouldn’t have succeeded if it wasn’t for the commitment of the participants who’ve turned up competed every week, not only putting in a great effort themselves but being supportive of each eachother and being welcoming to newcomers. To celebrate our first anniversary, next week’s session will be half price (regulars who block-book will get an extra week added to their booking). Please click here to access our booking page.

Please note, our sessions have now moved to the pitches in the “cage” at the top of the Vauxhall Road car park. This is the same 5G surface as the main pitch (both pitches were laid at the same time), but are slightly smaller than we’ve more recently used – the move allows us to use two pitches, growing the sessions and accommodating more players (2 x 6-a-side games). Depending on demand and availablity, a return to the main pitch will be continually reviewed.
