Our sessions take place every Monday at 8pm, on FIFA Pro standard all-weather artificial grass at Hemel Hempstead Town FC, Vauxhall Road; our matches are an easy, affordable and friendly opportunity for anyone to get active.
We’re committed to providing weekly recreational football sessions to Women & Girls living in and around Dacorum as part of our Community Kickabout initiative. In August 2022, after running popular Men’s Over 30’s Football games for two years, we trialled Women only sessions (with no age restrictions) at Hemel Hempstead Town FC. We had a fantastic response and have organised regular games since. Subject to online booking to confirm availability, women and girls can just play in Hemel Hempstead in our friendly small-sided games – you don’t need to rely on having enough players to book your own pitch or even be part of your own team, just register and play!
To help us launch the women’s only games, we were awarded a grant from the Barclays Community Football Fund, being delivered in parnership with Sported, that allowed us to secure long term booking of Hemel FC’s 5G pitch. Since then, we’re very grateful to have been supported by a Dacorum Borough Council Healthy Hub Grant and a Warburtons Community Grant to contribute towards facility hire, new kit and equipment from Starling Bank’s Kick On initiative (via Gift of Kit), and Sport England’s Tackling inequalities fund (via Sported) have provided a significant amount on funding to help our community sessions to be sustainable.
Our booking process:
Anyone who wants to join in a session will need to have signed up to Spond, downloaded the Spond app and completed the below form for access to the Community Kickabout group. We appreciate there’s some additional burden in having to register and download this service, but once you’re registered you should find this an easier way to book on and pay for our sessions.
- Notifications for upcoming games will be automatically sent out a week in advance.
- If you’re on the standby list, the app will generate a notification for you to book on if a place becomes available (in order of who joined the list first).
- You can use the app to change your availability for a game.
- There are group chat and private chat services within the app for easier communication with session organisers etc.
