Kickabout are getting behind two teams that are putting their love of football to the ultimate test on Saturday 14th June 2025, by entering one of Tackle’s Football Marathons – a unique fundraising event. Each year over 1000 people take part in Tackle’s regional 12-hour tournaments.
The two teams will feature ten Kickabout regulars: Javi Galindo, Colin Rickard, Carlos Magalhaes, Mo Hammad, Folajimi Odukomaiya, Samuel Hawkins, Anwar Elkhassasi, Omar Aloui, Peter Hare and Hai Le. They’ll be joined by Lee Websdale, Huan Nguyen,, Alex Deighan, Marcos Lima Junior, Seb Walsh, Sam Sambucci and Charlie Gamble. Both teams will play between 20-25 games of football in a 12-hour tournament, with two group stages and a knockdown phase. Click here for details of how to sponsor the teams.
Tackle uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across Sub-Saharan Africa. The Football Marathon is the ultimate test of skill and endurance! Now in its 23rd year, the event has raised over £2.4 million to support Tackle’s work.
