On Friday 9th August, the Hertfordshire FA celebrated volunteers from across our county for 2024 England Football Grassroots Football Awards. Volunteers are the beating heart of Grassroots, making football happen!
Marc Willmore, one of Kickabout’s volunteer session organisers, was nominated for an award in the category of Keeping Football Positive; the FA stated Marc is “someone who has used the power of football to improve the lives of others, delivering fun and flexible football sessions that help improve mental and physical wellbeing in their local community”.
On Friday, the FA announced Marc as the winner of this category. Video interview of Marc talking about Kickabout and receiving the award:
