MAN MANUAL GIVEAWAY THIS WEEK

It’s International Men’s Day ♂️

To support them theme “Making a positive difference to the wellbeing and lives of men and boys”, we have a batch of Man Manual‘s to give everyone who plays in our games this week.

One man in five will die before he reaches 65, two in five before the age of 75. Not with The Man Manual. One careful owner? With a little care, the high-performance machine that is the male body will run smoothly for a lifetime with just basic maintenance and minimal need for spare parts. This easy-to-read handbook will show you how to fine tune your engine, choose the right fuel and keep your mind on the road ahead. There are also interviews with men who’ve been on the journey and have a tale to tell.

The manual will explain the little changes that can make a big difference:

  • How to be good to your heart
  • How to get active
  • How to handle the ups and downs
  • The Man Manual also includes everyman’s personal TOOL-KIT: answers to all the frequently-asked questions on the male tackle.

The 36 page full colour A5 booklet, written and edited by Jim Pollard with cartoons by John Byrne is full of simple, practical tips that will improve the health of pretty much anyone.

If any of our regular players can’t play this week but still want a copy of the manual, just let us know and we’ll save you a copy. Our women players are also welcome to take a copy for their family or friends.

International Mens Day in the UK is on 19 November every year and is marked across the whole world. International Men’s Day in the UK is marked by more and more women, men and organisations each year. Across November there are Parliamentary debates, policy launches, employer days, community events, health days, business events, staff support days, debates, student events, political events, lectures, research launches, gigs, charity promotion days, book launches, mental health discussions, film showings, conferences, competitions, comedy nights, get-togethers, award announcements and charity fundraisers – the most anywhere in the world.

The three core themes for International Men’s Day in the UK which are used every year to help maximise participation are:

  • Making a positive difference to the wellbeing and lives of men and boys
  • Raising awareness and/or funds for charities supporting men and boys’ wellbeing
  • Promoting a positive conversation about men, manhood and masculinity

These core themes help to address some of the issues that affect men and boys such as:

  • The high male suicide rate
  • The challenges faced by boys and men at all stages of education and work including attainment, re-training, stress, redundancy and unemployment
  • Men’s health (including male cancers), shorter life expectancy, body image and workplace deaths – plus the health impact of Covid-19
  • The challenges faced by the most marginalised men and boys in society – for instance, homeless men, boys in care, school excluded boys and the high rate of male deaths in custody
  • Male victims of violence and crime – for instance, bullying, sexual violence, gang violence, and, those coerced into county lines and other criminal activity
  • The challenges faced by men as parents, particularly new fathers and separated fathers
  • Male victims and survivors of sexual abuse, rape, sexual exploitation, domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour-based crime, stalking. online image-abuse, sextortion and modern slavery
  • The negative portrayal of men, boys and fathers

At Community Kickabout we’ve already received fantastic feedback from our players about the physical, social and mental health benefits of our games, so we’re delighted to be able to offer the Man Manual to support your health with practical advice.
